Hristina Mikić in an interview with Nova.rs: “Glassmaking in Paraćin is under threat, but glass has significant potential for contemporary art”

Glassmaking in our country and throughout the region largely relies on the personal initiatives of individual artists. “We wanted to further promote glass and make it more accessible to a wider audience,” says Hristina Mikić, editor of the book Glass: Heritage, Art, Creative Economy, Technology, in an interview with Nova.rs. How well do we really know glass and its heritage? What role does it play in the world of art? How does creativity manifest through glass, both in technological innovation and the economy? Dr Hristina Mikić’s book explores these questions and more. It will be presented tomorrow at 3 pm at the Kanvas Community Centre in Skadarlija. Featuring seven original works and exclusive interviews, the book offers an in-depth look at the artistic, economic, and technological potential of glass.
