The Creative Glass LAB– a laboratory dedicated to promoting and revitalising traditional glassmaking techniques used in Paraćin’s glass industry at the beginning of the 20th century– was held at the Belgrade City Library. Participants learned etching and painting techniques, applied them to glass and glass objects, and explored glass fusing techniques and their application in creating artistic pieces.
The lab is part of the Creative Glass Serbia initiative and was organised as part of the 2nd Creative Glass Forum, in partnership with FREN, the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments – Belgrade, the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Corning Museum of Glass, and the Belgrade City Library.
The LAB was led by Miodrag Vargić, Atelier Vargić; Dr Joana Dhiamandi, Epoka University / Dhiamandi Studio, Tirana; and Dr Hristina Mikić, Creative Glass Serbia initiative.
Patrons: The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia and the Embassy of the United States of America in Belgrade.
