International Creative Glass Lab in Denmark: Knowledge Exchange and the Future of Glassmaking Heritage

The international Creative Glass Lab was successfully hosted at the Holmegaard Værk glassworks center in Denmark, bringing together 12 artists, designers, researchers, and glass experts from Serbia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Poland. This multi-day lab program was dedicated to exploring contemporary approaches to glassworking, sustainability in glass production, and the preservation of intangible cultural heritage through innovative artistic and technical practices.

This event marks one of three international creative glass labs organized within the framework of the project “Glassmaking Tradition Meets Innovation.” During their stay in Denmark, participants had the opportunity to work in experimental workshops, exchange hands-on experience with Danish and European master artisans, and explore the synergy between traditional glassmaking techniques, modern digital tools, and eco-friendly practices.
