
In addition to Paraćin “šlifovanje” – the glass cutting and engraving technique recognised as intangible glassmaking heritage- a digital approach to preserving the skills of Serbian glass masters was also presented in the town of Kamenický Šenov, which is particularly renowned for its glassmaking tradition and glass artistry.
“Digitalisation will help transmit and preserve traditional glassmaking techniques more easily, as it truly represents an innovation with wide applications in engraver training and the handcrafted glass industry,” said Hristina Mikić, director of the Creative Glass Serbia initiative, which focuses on researching Serbia’s glassmaking tradition and creating innovations in the field.
