Creative Glass Dialogues 2026

An international conference and networking event will mark the 180th anniversary of Serbian glassmaking, highlighting the significant influence of Czech expertise and heritage on its development. The event will bridge historical context with the modern glass industry and design, creating a space to connect industry experts, companies, and institutions. It is part of the International Creative Glass LAB-a series of lectures, presentations, an exhibition, and an international residency taking place from October 16 to 18, 2026, featuring 20 domestic and international glass artists. As part of the program, the exhibition The Eighth Wonder of the World will open, telling the story of Czech glass from its historical roots to contemporary creations. The exhibition is organized with the support of the Liberec Region (Liberecký kraj) and in collaboration with the Crystal Valley project.

The dialogues will also showcase representatives from leading Czech glass brands, including Lasvit, Brokis, Bomma, Rückl, and Qubus, alongside glass designers and the latest trends in glass design. As a result, the event offers not only a retrospective on the history of Czech and Serbian glassmaking, but also a valuable opportunity for networking, business connections, collaboration, and exploring modern Czech glass design.

Realisation of the Creative Glass Lab was co-funded by the European Union through the ‘Glassmaking Tradition Meets Innovation’ project, as well as by the Swiss Government under the ‘Culture for Democracy’ project, implemented by the Heartefact Foundation. The Creative Glass Dialogues are hosted in partnership with the Czech Centre Belgrade, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Serbia, the Liberec Region, Crystal Valley, the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou, the Association of Czech Industrial Design, and the Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Paraćin.
